I'm Stephen DeKuyper, a licensed life and accident & sickness insurance agent with ten years in the Canadian insurance industry. I help individuals and families find coverage that fits, and I'm here when it's time to use it.

How I work
I'm an independent advisor, which means I can place coverage with more than one insurer and compare options for you. I'll always tell you which insurer I'm recommending and why.
I'm paid by commission from the insurance company when a policy is placed, and in some cases I may receive additional compensation such as bonuses. I'll disclose how I'm paid and any conflict of interest before you buy.
I'm also the founder of Health Travel Group Inc., the technology company behind HTGInsure, MedTravelHQ and ExpatSecure. Health Travel Group does not sell or arrange insurance. Any insurance advice or policy I arrange for you is provided by me personally, as a licensed agent.
Concerns and complaints
If something isn't right, I want to know. Here's how to raise it:
- Contact me directly. I'll acknowledge your concern promptly and work to resolve it.
- If it involves your policy or a claim, contact the insurance company's complaints officer.
- If it's still unresolved, you can contact the OmbudService for Life & Health Insurance (OLHI), a free and independent service.
- You can also contact the regulator in your province. These are listed in the licences table above.
