I have 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry with stints in Toronto, Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. Most of my business experience was in the greater China area, where I spent 17 years helping companies set up, relocate or expand offices, manufacturing operations and R&D centres. I helped my clients starting from understanding the market and developing a strategy all the way through the execution of the transaction or consulting assignment.
For the last five years of my time in China, I ran my own commercial real estate brokerage firm in Shanghai, affiliated with Cresa, the largest tenant-representation-only firm in the United States. We were primarily involved in agency and project management in China, but I also helped to coordinate our clients’ requirements throughout Asia.
I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. with a major in Ethics. I am focusing on understanding how the mission, vision and values of a corporation is lived out in a company’s board governance and organizational ethics and culture with a view of helping companies walk through this process.
I like to study business ethics, particularly from a Christian perspective. In addition, I watch and analyse the current shifts in business, politics and society, especially what they mean in terms of ethical issues. I also can’t help but keep a keen eye on the business landscape in and related to China.
My goal with this Blog is to share my thoughts and experiences in ethics, business, economics, and faith in the workplace. I hope to post at least once a week and you can follow me by subscribing to my RSS feed. You can also catch me on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook. Or you can contact me the old fashion way: email me.
